Smart Dude with a black bow tie
PAPILION Lemberger, Fine Slovak dry red wine with attribute - late collection 2006 (13 %), Karloff[July 8, 2008, eTREND / Martin Mráz]
The economic and business weekly online publication TREND stated the following in its TREND wine section, under the column “Wine of the Week” with the headline "Smart Dude with a black bow tie,":
“KARLOFF s.r.o. to introduce a limited volume of superior wines under its own trademark PAPILION. These wines will be produced in liaison with the wine-making company Vintop Karkó.
The wine making company Vintop Karkó started its business in 1992 with an annual output of 3,000 bottles of wine focusing on wines of high quality with attribute. In 2003, the company planted its own vineyard stretching over 18 ha. The vineyard is located in the wine making region of southern Slovakia in the village of Búč which has a longstanding vine growing tradition. The vineyard’s location is on a medium-heavy non-skeletal soil.
Sensory evaluation: The old blue variety probably originates in Austria or Germany. It has a characteristic bouquet of mellow fruit with soft oak and cinnamon aroma. A fair content of tannic acid and higher acids create a harmonious wine of dark ruby and garnet colour
Total impression: easy, fruity drink for the summer adjustment resourceful product.
