23.8.2010 - TATRATEA awarded the red dot for excellent design
The jurors’ decision was clear: In recognition of the excellent design, TATRATEA will receive the sought-after “red dot” mark of quality in the red dot design award, one of the largest and most internationally acclaimed design competitions. 15 jury members, who are well-known design experts from around the world, assessed each one of the total 6,369 entries during a judging phase spanning several days. Fewer than 10% of the works were awarded a red dot for their design quality. All of the award-winning works will be displayed at an exhibition in the red dot design museum from December 9, 2010 to January 9, 2011.ň

Award ceremony and exhibition

All of the winners will be awarded their prizes at an elegant award ceremony in the gala hall of the Casino Zollverein in Essen, Germany on December 8, 2010. On the same evening, the vernissage will take place for the special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: communication design 2010”, which will exhibit all of the award-winning works from December 9, 2010 to January 9, 2011.

The red dot design award

With more than 13,000 entries in its disciplines “red dot award: product design”, “red dot award: communication design” and “red dot award: design concept”, the red dot design award is the world’s leading and largest design competition. Since 1955, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen has been selecting examples of excellent design quality and giving them official recognition in an exhibition.
